Achieva Resources the beginning
Achieva Resources was established as a combination of two agencies with similar pasts. In 1955, a group of parents in Richmond, Indiana had a mission and vision to provide a safe learning environment for children with disabilities. Thus Wayne County CRC was born. In 1957, a group of parents in Fayette had a similar vision for their children. This group formed Fayette CRC in Connersville, Indiana.
In 1968, Wayne County CRC opened its current building at 800 Mendleson Drive Richmond, Indiana. In 1971, Fayette CRC purchased a new facility in Connersville, Indiana.
These organizations both have changed names over the years, but have maintained the same vision and goals as its founders. In 1992, Fayette CRC officially became Landmark Services, Inc. In 1998, Wayne County CRC officially changed its name to Green Acres, Inc. In January 2004, Green Acres, Inc and Landmark Services, Inc successfully merged to become one organization. The new organization's name was Achieva Resources Corporation, Inc.
In November 2010, Achieva Resources changed their service programs to an Advocacy Organization. Achieva Resources now provides guardianship, advocacy, self-determinination training, a resource center for people and their families with disabilities, EXCEL (Early Experiences in Childhood Education and Learning), and a sponsor of The People's First Kiwanis Aktion Club of Wayne County..
