Adult Developmental Activities
ADA is a comprehensive program that provides habilitation services to consumers with more challenging needs. This program is intensely staffed to accommodate needs such as personal assistance, self help, behavior training, toileting, changing, mobility and feeding. We believe in consumer choice and are goal oriented. Some skills and activities include basic academics, communication, computer, paid work, transitioning, arts & crafts, exercise, music appreciation, recreation, and community inclusion. The ADA programs are located in Wayne and Fayette counties.
Mobility Opportunities Via Education
M.O.V.E. is a mobility program that uses education, training and adaptive equipment to teach individuals that are non-ambulatory how to sit, stand and walk. While participating in this program, individuals gain muscle control, improved cardiovascular strength, and increased bone strength while participating in every day activities. Achieva Resources has a certified M.O.V.E. Site Trainer.
Golden Explorers
Golden Explorers is a program designed for our older adults that are retired or semi-retired. This program is also intensely staff to accommodate the needs of our aging population and to ensure that they have the opportunity to stay as active as possible. This program provides services to nursing home residents through the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA). Some skills worked on include self help, personal assistance, feeding, toileting, mobility, reality orientation, arts & crafts, music appreciation, recreation and leisure.
Habilitation
Group and Individual habilitation is provided in Fayette, Franklin, Union and Wayne counties. This service provides the consumer with training in such things as academic skills, computer skills, arts & crafts, daily living skills, community awareness, socialization and leisure activities.
These services can be provided in the facility as well as in the community. The object of this training is to help consumers to become as independent as possible in their community.
Recreation
Our recreation program assists individuals with leisure, health & fitness training and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life as well as prolong lives.
Social Club is a group which falls under recreation. This group meets at least once a month to provide socialization and interaction among consumers. The activities in which they participate may include but are not limited to: bowling, dances, movies, trips to orchards, farmers market, talent shows and parties
Social Services/Program Management
Each person in adult services is provided with a program manager to assist the consumer with helping set up services that the consumer is interested in. The program manager provides day to day assistance with the consumers needs as well as setting up and attending annual and quarterly meetings.
