Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon
On Thursday, March 18, 2010 Achieva Resources celebrated with staff who have worked with Achieva for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years. The Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon was held at Forest Hill’s Country Club in Richmond. Each employee received a gift given to them by Jill Dearing or Mike Smith, two of our consumers. Achieva Resources would like to thank such dedicated staff. It’s because of your dedication to our agency and consumers that Achieva continues to provide high quality services.

President's Corner
In October 2009, I was proud to be re-elected as Chairman of the Indiana State Rehabilitation Commission. Their Mission Statement is to assist person with disabilities and achieving employment and independence. The Commission consists of 15 individuals appointed by the Governor of Indiana. The Commission works in partnership with the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services. The Commission develops, agrees to and reviews State goal and priorities regarding the effectiveness of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. The Commission develops an annual report that is submitted to the Rehabilitation Services Administration and the Governor. The Commission also conducts public hearings to receive input in the development of the State Rehabilitation Program.
I am also pleased to report that two of our group homes applied for re-licensure to the State Board of Health to meet the expanding medical and active treatment needs of the individuals we serve. Our facility located at 820 Mendleson Drive is now certified as a Basic Development Home and 825 Mendleson Drive is certified as a Development Training Home. The purpose of re-licensing these homes was to increase the number of staff that will be available to assist our consumers with their personal, social and training needs. We will now have multiple staff working during the second and third shifts. I want to thank Karen Robinson QMRP for the outstanding job that she did in preparing the re-licensure applications.
