ADULT GUARDIANSHIP SERVICES

Since 2010, Achieva Resources provides adult guardianship services to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health issues who are not able to make medical, financial, or day-to-day decisions for themselves.

As part of the Indiana Adult Guardianship Services (IAGS) Project, Achieva Resources acts as legal guardian, supported decision-making advocate, champion for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness, or seniors that cannot care for themselves.  Since 2010, our community-based adult guardianship services spans across a six county region that includes Wayne, Union, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, and Randolph Counties.

Achieva Resources is committed to:
  • Serve incapacitated adults through services that are the least restrictive and include specialized services for seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
  • Establish community-based networks of courts, attorneys, service providers, guardianship professionals and volunteers, and other advocates who are engaged as stakeholders in serving citizens of all abilities across our community.
  • Utilize the services of attorneys, National Certified Guardian professionals, and trained and supervised community volunteers.
  • Advocate on behalf of incapacitated adults and the program that provide guardianship services in Indiana.

VASIA Program

VASIA (Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults)

Achieva Resources Adult Guardianship Program is dependent upon our VASIA Program, which engages volunteers from throughout the region we serve to visit and participate in inclusive opportunities in and around the community.  Individuals served include elderly, mentally ill, and intellectual/developmentally disabled individuals that reside in nursing homes, group homes, or support living homes in Wayne, Union, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, and Randolph Counties.

After a background screening process, VASIA Program volunteers are provided with training and are then matched with an individual in the community and connected to various community events and resources in which to participate and engage together.
